CYO Tournament sets Dec. 3 pairings

East Jefferson will not return to defend its 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl CYO basketball tournament, which will be played at four sites on Dec. 3-4.

Instead, John Curtis will make its CYO debut as part of the 16-team field.

Jesuit will host the semifinal round on Dec. 4, and Brother Martin replaces Holy Cross as the site of the championship game on Dec. 5.

The first-round pairings at Jesuit match Curtis against Holy Cross and Jesuit against Newman.

Games at Archbishop Rummel gym match De La Salle against East St. John, and St. Thomas Aquinas against host Rummel.

Brother Martin’s Conlin Gymnasium will host Hahnville against St. Stanislaus, followed by Brother Martin against Covington.

And Archbishop Hannan will open its doors to Archbishop Shaw and St. Augustine in the opener. The host Hannan Hawks will then play St. Paul’s in the second game.

The first games begin at 6 p.m. The championship game will have a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
