2014 Clarion Herald Elite softball team

Outstanding Pitcher

For a sophomore, Cabrini’s Karli Perque displayed the pitching skills of a senior. In leading the Crescents to the No. 1 seed in Class 4A, Perque
posted a 24-5 record, a 0.97 earned run average and struck out 271 batters.

Outstanding Player

Mount Carmel had more talent than any local Catholic school team, including the No. 1 hitter and fielder in third baseman Samantha Dares. Just a sophomore, Dares led a band of capable Cub hitters with a .457 batting average.

Coach of the Year

Under the tutelage of head coach Shannon Austin, Cabrini has fielded a state championship contender. This past season, the Crescents were District 9-4A co-champions and the No. 1 seed in the Class 4A playoffs with a 24-5 record.
