Rosary Congress finds ‘the real Jesus’
St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie hosted the five-day Greater New Orleans Rosary Congress, which included Masses, eucharistic exposition, confessions and a candlelight procession with the Blessed Sacrament on Oct. 6. A cohort of girls tossed rose petals in front of the procession.
Father Luis Rodriguez, pastor of St. Clement, said Catholics should always feel blessed to have the “real thing” – the body and blood of Jesus.
“How often do we try to look for substitutes for our true spiritual food, the true bread come down from heaven?” Father Rodriguez asked in his homily. “Why are we looking for substitutes? Why?
We have the real thing. We have the real Jesus.”
