Rite of Election celebrates a ‘Yes’ to Jesus Christ



Archbishop Gregory Aymond presided over the Rite of Election Feb. 14 at St. Louis Cathedral for 111 catechumens and 159 candidates to help them continue preparation to enter fully into the Catholic faith at Easter.  Catechumens have never been baptized; candidates have been baptized in a Protestant faith and complete their full initiation into the Catholic church by receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and the Eucharist.
