Judeo-Christian lecture series set Dec. 3 at Tulane


Tulane University continues its Judeo-Christian Studies Lecture, with speaker Christine Hayes talking about “What’s Divine About Divine Law,” Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rogers Memorial Chapel, 1229 Broadway, New Orleans.

Hayes is the Robert F. and Patricia R. Weis professor of religious studies at Yale University, where she has taught since 1996, following three years teaching in the Princeton Near Eastern Studies Department.

She received her bachelor of arts from Harvard and Ph.D. from the Department of Near Eastern Studies at Berkeley. Her award-winning books include “Between the Babylonian and Palestinian Talmuds” (Oxford 1997) and “Gentile Impurities and Jew- ish Identities: Intermarriage and Conversion from the Bible to the Talmud” (Oxford 2002).
