The light of faith

Artist Jed Malitz, who describes himself as a “baby” Christian, worked for 25 years in the fields of math, computer science and biotechnology information systems. On the side, he dabbled in photography and computer-generated imaging.
Now, after “quitting” his career, he produces stunning pieces of glasswork. The sculpture of the crucified Christ is made up of 21 panes of glass, and it’s on display at his Julia Street art gallery. Malitz says the sacred project has changed his life. “This is pure light,” he says. “Instead of depicting light coming out of Jesus, I can depict him as light.” See Peter Finney Jr.'s column for more.
