Southern Regional CCRNO conference March 13-15

The annual Southern Regional Conference of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, based on the theme “Set Free” (2 Cor 3:17), will be held March 13-15 at the Best Western Plus Landmark Hotel, 2601 Severn Ave., Metairie.
Conference speakers include Bob Canton, who has an international ministry of praying for healing; Father Simon Peter Engurait, a priest of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, originally from Uganda; Sister Lucy Lukasiewicz, a member of the National Service Committee for Catholic Charismatic Renewal; Father Robert-Joel Cruz, whose healing ministry brings him from his parish in Houma-Thibodaux around the world; and Deacon Larry Oney, a businessman and evangelistic preacher.
All conference sessions will take place in the hotel’s Mardi Gras Ballroom.
The conference begins on March 13 at 7 p.m. and concludes March 15 with an 11 a.m. Mass. Participants may attend the conference for a single session or all weekend. On March 12 at 3:30 p.m., Father Engurait will celebrate a pre-conference Mass of Intercession.
A special feature of this year’s conference will be the combination of youth and adults into a single conference track. Two music groups will lead in worship: Joyful Noise, led by Joe Polito, which has provided music at the conference for more than 20 years; and NoLoudRocks, a youth band led by Leslie Bertucci. Teenagers and young adults will join with other attendees in all conference sessions.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond will open the conference on March 13, followed by a keynote talk by Deacon Oney on “Set Free.” There will be an altar call, eucharistic adoration and prayer and praise led by the youth ministry from 9:30 to 11 p.m.
The March 14 session will begin with 9 a.m. Mass celebrated by Father Cruz, who will offer a general prayer for healing after Mass. Three speakers will address the topic, “Set Free Through Baptism in the Spirit,” for different age groups: Sister Lucy will speak to the adults; Father Engurait to the young adults; and Tim McCaffrey to teenagers.
A special family session entitled, “Set Free Through Family Life,” will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. This will be an afternoon of music, teaching and prayer ministry for the entire family – toddlers to grandparents. NoLoudRocks will lead the music, Sister Lucy will speak and prayer teams from the adult and youth ministry will be available. A special price for this session only is $20 for the entire family.
The Saturday night session will address “Set Free Through the Power of God.” Canton will speak and pray for the assembly, followed by a “Praise Party,” a mini-concert led by Joyful Noise.
On March 15 at 9 a.m., Canton will give a talk on healing, followed by a eucharistic healing service led by Father Bill Henry. Father Engurait will be celebrant and homilist at the Sunday Mass at 11 a.m. The conference will conclude before lunch.
Seating is limited and early registration is encouraged. Discounts are available for pre-registration. No pre-registration is needed for single sessions or the Saturday afternoon family session.
