Priests, deacons, religious celebrate jubilees May 4

Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond will celebrate the annual Jubilarian Mass May 4 at 3 p.m. St. Rita Church, New Orleans, for 18 archdiocesan priests, 10 deacons, and 44 religious (nine priests, eight brothers and 27 sisters) celebrating major anniversaries of ordination or religious commitment.
The jubilarians have served a total of 3,480 years in religious life.

Archbishop Aymond will be the principal celebrant. Father Gilmer J. Martin, celebrating his 40th jubilee as a priest, will be the homilist. Father Martin is the pastor of St. John of the Cross Parish in Lacombe.

A reflection on religious life also will be given by Sister of Mount Carmel Andrée Marie Bindewald, a 50-year jubilarian.

Celebrating 75 years
Christian Brother Alfred Baltz, Marianite Sister Enda Eileen Byrne, Sister of the Holy Family Mary Joseph Angela Parker, Sister of Mercy Mary Henry Simoneaux.

Celebrating 70 years
