Clarion Herald wins 8 Catholic press awards

BUFFALO, New York – The Clarion Herald won eight awards from the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada at the 2015 Catholic Media Conference.

First Place: Best Color Ad, “World Mission Sunday,” by Cheryl Dejoie-LaCabe

Second Place: Best Sports Photo, “Waddah Catch!” by Ron Brocato

Second Place: Best Black and White Ad, “Harry's Dive Shop,” by Lloyd Robichaux

Third Place: Best Local News Story, “Marie Laveau Tomb,” by Christine Bordelon

Third Place: Best Color Ad, “Chateau de Notre Dame, by Cheryl Dejoie-LaCabe

Honorable Mention: Individual Excellence-Editor, Peter Finney Jr.

Honorable Mention: Best Reporting on Children, “St. Peter's 'Mystery Mission' Gets Students Serving,” by Beth Donze
